This covers the GapScan website at gapscan.dev and the cloud waitlist. It is short because GapScan collects very little.
What we collect
Only what you type into the waitlist form:
- Your email address.
- The role you select (developer, security reviewer, lead, or other).
The site has no accounts, no sign-in, and no advertising or analytics trackers. If you never submit the waitlist form, GapScan collects nothing about you beyond the standard server request logs described below.
How we use it
Your email is used for one purpose: to send you a single message when the GapScan cloud service opens, with the link to sign in and your founding price. We do not send a newsletter, and we do not sell, rent, or share your email with anyone else.
Where it is stored
The waitlist is held in a private database provided by our infrastructure partners, Vercel (hosting) and Upstash (the database). It is not published, is not shown to other visitors, and is not addressable from a public URL. Routine server logs that record a request's time, IP address, and page are kept by Vercel for a short period as part of running the site.
Your choices
You stay in control:
- Leave at any time. Open the waitlist page and choose "Leave the waitlist" — this deletes your email from the list.
- Access or removal. Because the data is just your email and role, the leave option above is the quickest way to remove it. We honour removal requests.
Cookies and your browser
GapScan does not set tracking cookies. The waitlist page saves a small record in your browser's local storage so it can show that you have already joined on that device; clearing your site data removes it. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google may receive your IP address as part of delivering those font files.
Children
GapScan is a tool for software teams and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the waitlist handles your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. The current version always lives here.
